1536 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 880

Mayor may be reimbursed for any expense actually in-
curred in prosecuting the official business of the munici-
pality.

SEC. 2. And be it further 'enacted, That this Act shall
be submitted to the legally qualified voters of the Town of
Brunswick, at the regular municipal election in August,
1944, and there shall be printed on each ballot to be used
in said election the title of this Act, and underneath thereof
on separate lines, the words "For Increased Salary for
Mayor" and "Against Increased Salary for Mayor", with
a square opposite said words at the right end of each line,
so that each voter can indicate his or her choice on said
question.

The said election shall be conducted and the results there-
of ascertained in accordance with the Constitution and
Laws of this State relating to Elections, and if it shall ap-
pear from the results of said election that a majority of
the votes cast are "Against Increased Salary for Mayor",
then this Act shall not become effective and it shall be null
and void, but if a majority of the votes cast are "For In-
creased Salary for Mayor", then this Act shall immediately
become effective.

CHAPTER 880.
(Senate Bill 507)

AN ACT to repeal Section 12 and to repeal and re-enact,,
with amendments, Sections 13 and 14 of Article 7 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Carroll County, " sub-title "Billiards, " relating to
the closing of pool or billiard rooms or bowling alleys
in Carroll County and the penalty for the violation
thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 12 of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County, "
sub-title "Billiards, " be and it is hereby repealed, and that
Sections 13 and 14 of said Article be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as;
