Brunswick at the regular municipal election in August,
1944, and there shall be printed on each ballot to be used
in said election the title of this Act, and underneath thereof
on separate lines, the words "For Increased Salary for
Members of the Council" and "Against Increased Salary
for Members of the Council", with a square opposite said
words at the right end of each line, so that each voter can
indicate his or her choice on said question.

The said election shall be conducted and the results
thereof ascertained in accordance with the Constitution and
Laws of this State relating to Elections, and if it shall
appear from the results of said election that a majority of
the votes cast are "Against Increased Salary for Members
of the Council", then this Act shall not become effective
and it shall be null and void, but if a majority of the votes
cast are "For Increased Salary for Members of the Coun-
cil", then this Act shall immediately become effective.

CHAPTER 879.
(Senate Bill 506)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, sub-
section (3) of Section 35 of Article 11 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Frederick County", sub-title "Brunswick", as said sec-
tion was enacted by Chapter No. 740 of the Acts of 1943
(Senate Bill No. 308), providing for an increase in the
salary of the Mayor of Brunswick, and providing for a
referendum thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-section (3) of Section 35 of Article 11 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Frederick County", sub-title "Brunswick", as said
section was enacted by Chapter No. 740 of the Acts of 1943
(Senate Bill No. 308), be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(3) The Mayor may suspend from office, subject to re-
view and final action by the Council, any official or employee
appointed or employed by the Mayor and Council for any
neglect of duty or improper conduct in his office. The
Mayor shall receive the annual salary of $500. 00
and no other compensation whatever; provided that the
