1532 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 876

The Claiborne-Annapolis Ferry Company and/or its
predecessor, Claiborne-Annapolis Ferry, Inc.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be, and the same is hereby
added to Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), title "Pensions", as enacted by Chapter
377 of the Acts of 1941, said new section to be known as
3A, to follow immediately after Section 3 of said Article
and to i^ead as follows:

3A. Any provision in this Article to the contrary not-
withstanding, any person, who was an employee of The
Claiborne-Annapolis Ferry Company, who was selected as
a permanent employee of the State Roads Commission in
accordance with Section 140H of Article 89B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), as enacted by
Chapter 856 of the Acts of 1941, and who was an employee
of said Commission on October 1, 1941, and

(a) who became a member of this retirement system
in accordance with Section 3 of this Article, or

(b) who elected under Sub-section (2) of said Section
3 not to become a member of said system, or

(e) who has withdrawn from membership in said sys-
tem, or

(d) who has retired or been retired in accordance with
the provisions of Section 5 of this Article and has with-
drawn from membership in said system, shall be entitled
to credit for all prior service rendered not only to said
Commission but also to The Claiborne-Annapolis Ferry
Company and/or its predecessor, Claiborne-Annapolis
Ferry, Inc.

Any such person who elected not to become a member
under Sub-section (2) of Section 3 or who withdrew from
membership in said system may apply for and be admitted
to membership but shall not be entitled to receive the
prior service credit provided for in this Section 3A unless
he becomes a member of said system within sixty days
from the effective date of this Act.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1943.
