SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 826.
(Senate Bill 430)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
194 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester County",
sub-title "Taxes", as said section was amended by Chap-
ter 355 of the Acts of 1933, increasing the compensa^-
tion of the Treasurer of Dorchester County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 194 of Article 10 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi^n), title "Dor-
chester County", sub-title "Taxes", as said section was
amended by Chapter 355 of the Acts of 1933, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

194. The Treasurer shall receive as compensation for his
services as Treasurer and collector of Dorchester County an
annual salary of twenty-seven hundred ($2, 700. 00) dollars,
which shall be paid in equal monthly installments. And the
said salary shall be his sole compensation, and all fees of
every kind and description arising from the sale of prop-
erty for taxes or from any other sources shall not be re-
tained by the Treasurer, but shall be paid by him to the
County Commissioners and a separate account kept there-
of, and the aggregate amount of such fees shall be included
in the annual budget of the said Commissioners as an asset
of the county.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and being passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
May 1, 1943.
