is appointed and qualified. In addition to the duties now
imposed upon the said clerk by law he shall make frequent
inspection of the records of the county Treasurer, shall
check all reports submitted by the county Treasurer to the
County Commissioners and shall keep the County Commis-
sioners fully informed as to the fiscal affairs of the county.
He shall also perform such other duties as may be required
of him by the County Commissioners. He shall be remov-
able at the pleasure of the County Commissioners and shall
receive as compensation for his services as such
clerk such annual salary as the County Commissioners
shall, by unanimous vote, agree upon, not to ex-
ceed one thousand two hundred and fifty dollars,
to be levied for by the said Commissioners as is usual
in such cases, and payable monthly by said Commissioners,
and he shall receive no extra or other compensation or fees
of any kind for the duties now imposed upon himself by
law, by the provisions of this Act or otherwise, which may
properly appertain to his office. He shall upon application
exhibit the books, papers^ and levies in his office and make
certified copies or extracts thereof for any person demand-
ing the same, and charge for the same, for the use of the
county, such fees as are chargeable by the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court for similar work, and such copies, under the seal
of the County Commissioners, shall be evidence to the same
extent as the originals would be if produced in proceedings
in court or otherwise; all fees received from this source,
however, shall be accounted f or to the County Commission-
ers by the said clerk.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

(Senate Bill 385)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
89A of Article 5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, (1930 Edition), title "Calvert County", sub-
title "County Treasurer", as said section was enacted
by Chapter 263 of the Acts of 1937, authorizing the
County Commissioners to levy an additional sum for
extra clerical assistance for the County Treasurer.
