District Forestry Board of the woodlands proposed to. be
cut. Such application shall be made by mail and addressed
to the District Forestry Board of the District in which the
lands are located, and shall contain the following informa-
tion: the location of the woodland, its approximate acreage,
and the proposed cutting plan.
B. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to the
cutting of firewood and timber for domestic use for the
owner or his tenant, but shall apply to all cutting not here-
inabove specifically excepted.
Upon receipt of the application required by this Section,
the District Forestry Board shall, within thirty days, make
or cause to be made by a qualified person or persons, an
examination of the woodlands covered by the application.
It shall be the duty of the Board, after having made the
examination aforesaid, within a reasonable time, to advise
in writing the owner of the woodland, or his agent, as to*
the most practical and satisfactory method of cutting the
woodland covered by the application and to give its assent
to do the cutting found best adapted thereto.
62. The Commission of State Forests and Parks is
hereby authorized to accept for the State of Maryland any
appropriation of money for any forest conservation pur-
poses which may hereafter be made out of the Federal
Treasury by any Act or Acts of Congress and the Com-
mission of State Forests and Parks shall be constituted
the forestry authority for the expenditure and administra-
tion of any such funds.
The Treasurer of this State shall be the custodian of all
moneys received by the State from appropriations for for-
est conservation purposes that may hereafter be made by
any Act or Acts of Congress 'and is hereby authorized to
receive and provide for the proper custody of the same
and to make disbursements therefrom upon the order of
the Commission of State Forests and Parks.
63. This sub-title shall not apply to the clearing of
woodlands for reservoirs, military, naval, agricultural,
communication and transmission lines or industrial sites,
railroad, residential or recreational purposes.
64. A person who violates the provisions of this sub-
title or of rules or regulations made by the Commission of
State Forests and Parks, or by the District Forestry Board,
with the approval of the Commission of State Forests and
Parks under the authority of this sub-title, shall be deemed
