SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 556 and 557 of Article 7 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Carroll County'', sub-title "Witnesses", be and they
are hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 111.
(Senate Bill 118)

AN ACT to repeal Section 15 of Article 7 of the Code of
Public Local Laws (1930 Edition), title "Carroll
County", sub-title "Bills of Exchange and Promissory
Notes".

Whereas, there is a State-wide law making Saturday
afternoon a legal half holiday as regards the presenting
for payment of notes, etc., so that the local law is no longer
necessary; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 15 of Article 7 of the Code of
Public Local Laws (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County",
sub-title "Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes", be
and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 140 and 141 of Article 7 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
