Board of Correction, and the said Board shall have and exer-
cise with respect to the said Institution and the inmates con-
fined therein, all of the powers and authority which it has with
respect to the Maryland Penitentiary and the Maryland House
of Correction and the inmates of said Institutions. Employees
provided for in this Act except the superintendent and her
deputy shall be subject to all the rules and regulations of the
Maryland State Merit System.

761E. Commitments to the Women's Prison shall be as now
provided by the laws of this State relating to the Maryland
Penitentiary and the Maryland House of Correction, provided
however that only female offenders may upon conviction be
committed to that Institution by any Court or Justice of the
Peace having jurisdiction without reference to the degree of
the crime or crimes charged against such female offenders; and
provided further that no person shall be sentenced to the said
Women's Prison for less than three months.

761F. Any female offender who may be sentenced to death
may, either by original commitment or by transfer upon the
authority of the Board of Correction, be detained in the
Women's Prison until not less than twenty-four hours prior
to the time fixed for the execution of such offender when such
offender shall be, by the authority of the Board of Correction,
transferred to the death house in the Maryland Penitentiary
for execution.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 72.
(Senate Bill 110)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 156, 157 and 158 of Article 7

of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930

Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-title "License to

Sell Carriages", said sections requiring a license to sell

carriages not manufactured in this State.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 156, 157 and 158 of Article 7 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
