CHAPTER 66.
(Senate Bill 150)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 554 and 555 of Article 7 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Carroll County", sub-title "Winters Mill Dam".

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 554 and 555 of Article 7 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Carroll County", sub-title "Winters Mill Dam", be,,
and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 67.

(Senate Bill 193)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County", sub-title "Williamsport", said
new section to be known as Section 817A, and to follow
immediately after Section 817 of said Article, relating
to the corporate powers of the town of Williamsport.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Washington County", sub-title "Wil-
liamsport", said new section to be known as Section 817A,
to follow immediately after Section 817 of said Article,
and to read as follows:

817A. The Mayor and Council of Williamsport may
acquire (by purchase or otherwise) and hold title to any
property which they deem necessary or desirable for mu-
nicipal purposes; provided, however, that the Mayor and
Council shall not purchase or acquire any real estate, unless
the said Mayor and Council shall first provide by ordinance
for said purchase, and the mode and manner of payment
therefor; and all ordinances for the purchase of real estate
shall provide for submitting the question of said purchase
