safety, and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, sup-
ported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each
of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 491.
(Senate Bill 217)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 89B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "State
Roads", said new section to be known as Section 16A
and to follow immediately after Section 16 of said Arti-
cle, relating to vacation and sick leave of certain em-
ployees working on county roads under the supervision
of the State Roads Commission.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "State Roads", said new section to be known
as Section 16A, to follow immediately after Section 16 of
said Article, and to read as follows:
16A. The employees working on county roads under the
supervision of the State Roads Commission but being car-
ried on the county payroll as chauffeurs, foremen and
power grade operators shall with the approval of the
County Commissioners of the several counties, have and
enjoy the same rights and privileges regarding vacation
and sick leave as the employees of the State Roads Com-
mission working in said counties but carried on the State
payroll.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1941.
