shall be that on the ballots at*such election there shall be
printed the words "For purchase of combination pumper and
ladder fire truck and additional tax levy", with a blank
square opposite at the right, and the words "Against purchase
of combination pumper and ladder fire truck and additional
tax levy", with a blank square opposite at the right, and all
qualified voters desiring to vote for the provisions of this Act
shall place a cross mark (x) in the square opposite the words
"For purchase of combination pumper and ladder fire truck and
additional tax levy", and all qualified voters desiring to vote
against the provisions of this Act shall put a cross mark (x)
opposite the words "Against purchase of combination pumper
and ladder fire truck and additional tax levy". If at such
election a greater number of persons shall vote "For purchase
of combination pumper and ladder fire truck and additional
tax levy", than shall vote "Against purchase of combination
pumper and ladder fire truck and additional tax levy", then
the provisions of the aforegoing sections shall become opera-
tive and in full force and effect.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and being
passed upon a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of
all members elected to each of the Two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

CHAPTER 420.

(House Bill 685)

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and Common Council of Fair-
mount Heights, in Prince George's County, to increase the
tax rate to not exceeding f. 25 on the $100. 00 of assessed
valuation, upon the approval of this Act by the qualified
voters of Fairmount Heights and to provide for submission
or rejection.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted Toy the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That annually on or before the first Monday in June
after the approval of this Act by the qualified voters of the
Town of Fairmount Heights, the Mayor and Common Council
of Fairmount Heights shall have power to levy a tax of not
to exceed $. 25 on each $100. 00 of the assessed valuation of
