properly equip the same in order that the records of said
office may be safeguarded and kept. The duty is likewise im-
posed upon said County Commissioners of paying the premium
on any and all bonds required of said County Treasurer either
pursuant to the provisions of this section or made necessary
by the provisions of any other general, local or special law
now in force or which may be hereafter enacted. Upon the
expiration of the term of said County Treasurer, whether elect-
ed or appointed, pursuant to the provisions of this section,
his obligations with reference to the collection of unpaid and
uncollected taxes shall be such as is now provided by the Gen-
eral Laws of the State of Maryland. Any County Treasurer
appointed or elected pursuant to the provisions of this section
shall deliver to his successor in office such records, papers and
books as it ma}7 be necessary and proper for such successor to
have.

805B. The County Treasurer shall keep his office open for
transaction of business during the same hours as the office of
the Clerk of the Court for Washington County regularly re-
mains open.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 403.
(House Bill 518)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 323, 324 and 325 of Article 27 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Health—Milk—Pure—
Skimmed", and Sections 497, 498, 499, 500, 501, 502, 503,
504, 505, 506, 507, 508, 509 and 510 of Article 43 of said Code,
title "Health", sub-title "Milk"; and to enact in lieu thereof
sundry new sections to follow after said sub-title, and to be
known as Sections 497 to 525, both inclusive.

WHEREAS, milk is a necessary article of human food, and the
production, processing and distribution of an adequate whole-
some supply of milk is essential to the welfare of the State;
and

WHEREAS,, it is of vital importance and in the public interest
that such milk supply should be adequately safeguarded and
protected by appropriate legislation; and
