1001. Whenever any law requires, or the Board of Educa-
tion of Montgomery County shall authorize, the insuring of
any of the school property or of any activity of the Board of
Education against any hazard or risk including liability or
collision insurance, or the bonding of any employee of the
County School System of Montgomery County, it shall be the
duty of the Supervisor of School Property to procure such
insurance or bond and any renewal or renewals thereof.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted,. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 247.
(House Bill 134)

AN ACT to repeal Chapter 715 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, Session of 1939, and to enact in
lieu thereof a new Section, to Article 3 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Baltimore
County, " sub-title, "Building Regulations", to follow Sec-
tion 72, to be known as Section 72B, authorizing and em-
powering the County Commissioners of Baltimore County
to adopt a comprehensive plan of zoning regulations and
restrictions affecting the erection, construction, reconstruc-
tion, alteration, repair and use of buildings, structures and
land within Baltimore County; authorizing and empow-
ering the said County Commissioners to adopt regulations
and restrictions affecting the use of land and buildings for
trade, industry, residence and other purposes, the height of
buildings and other structures, the size of yards, courts, the
set-back or distance of buildings or structures from front and
side lot, road, street or alley line, and other open spaces; to
authorize and empower the County Commissioners to ap-
point a Zoning Commissioner, and to provide for and ap-
point a Board of Zoning Appeals; to provide for appeals to
the Circuit Court of Baltimore County; to authorize the pay-
ment of salaries and expenses; to provide penalties for the
violation of regulations and restrictions, and to provide for
injunctions in certain cases.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 715 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland 1939, be and the same is hereby repealed and
that one new section be and the same is hereby enacted in
