Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Montgomery County", sub-title "Crimes and Punishments",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

274. The County Commissioners of Montgomery County are
authorized to pay each prisoner employed under the provisions
of this Act at the end of his term at the rate of seventy-five
cents ($0. 75) per day for the actual days worked on public
roads; Provided, however, that in any case where it is found
necessary for said County to expend monies for public assist-
ance through the Montgomery County Welfare Board to the
wife or family of any such prisoner while he is so employed,
for the support and maintenance of such wife or family, the
County Commissioners of Montgomery County are authorized,
in their discretion, to withhold out of the pay thus earned by
any such prisoner, all or any part of his pay so earned as an
off-set by way of liquidation or satisfaction of any such monies
expended for such public assistance to the wife or family of
such prisoner. Any such monies so withheld by the said
County Commissioners shall be made available for the use of
the Montgomery County Welfare Board.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

(House Bill 436)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
871A of Chapter 173 of the Laws of Maryland (1939), being
Section 1001 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mont-
gomery County (1939 Edition), relating to the placing of
insurance by the Supervisor of School Property for Mont-
gomery County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 871A of Chapter 173 of the Laws of Mary-
land (1939), being Section 1001 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Montgomery County (1939 Edition), relating to the
placing of insurance by the Supervisor of School Property
for Montgomery County, be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
