154D. The Commissioner of Motor Vehicles shall pro-
vide for the various classifications of Motor Vehicle License
Examiners as set forth within this sub-section, travelling
and customary expenses, uniforms, and equipment neces-
sary to the performance of their respective duties.
154E. All Motor Vehicle License Examiners are and
shall continue within the protection of the provisions of
Article 64A, relating to the Merit System.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941..

CHAPTER 214.
(Senate Bill 133)
AN ACT to provide for additional scholarships in Applied
Science or Advanced Technology at Johns Hopkins Uni-
versity, and authorizing appropriations therefor.
WHEREAS, Chapter 90 of the Acts of 1912 provides for
the establishing of scholarships in Applied Science and
Advanced Technology at the Johns Hopkins University for
the several Counties of the State and the four Legislative
Districts of Baltimore City and
WHEREAS, since the enactment of said Chapter 90 of the
Acts of 1912, two additional Legislative Districts have been
created in Baltimore City, due to the annexation of addi-
tional territory to said city and
WHEREAS, no provision has been made for scholarships
for these two additional Districts; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Fifth and Sixth Legislative Districts
of Baltimore City be allotted a like number of scholarships,
including "a full Senatorial Scholarship" for each of said
districts, as are now or may hereafter be allotted to any
other legislative district in said City under the provisions
of said Chapter 90 of the Acts of Maryland of 1912. The
holders of said scholarships for the Fifth and Sixth Legis-
lative Districts of Baltimore City shall be selected in the
same manner and be subject to the same conditions and
