said municipal corporation, the Town Commissioners of
Centreville, for the amount so borrowed. Said note and/or
notes shall be drawn in such amount and/or amounts as
said municipal corporation shall in its discretion deter-
mine but the total amount of said promissory note and/or
notes shall not exceed fifteen thousand ($15, 000. 00) dollars,
and the said municipal corporation, the Town Commission-
ers of Centreville, is hereby authorized and empowered,
for and during a period not extending longer than July 1,
1943, to renew said promissory note and/or notes
as they mature from time to time, in whole or in part,
until all of said promissory notes and interest to accrue
thereon shall have been fully paid, but no note or notes or
renewal note or note shall be drawn so as to fall due after
the first day of July, 1943, and no note or notes
or renewal note or notes shall be given by said municipal
corporation after the first day of July, 1943.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 194.
(Senate Bill 350)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
314 of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-
title "Revenue and Taxes", as said section was amended
by Chapter 566 of the Acts of T933, relating to discounts
for prompt payment of taxes and the payment of interest
on taxes in arrears.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 314 of Article 7 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Car-
roll County", sub-title "Revenue and Taxes", as said sec-
tion was amended by Chapter 566 of the Acts of 1933, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

314. A. County taxes levied by the County Commis-
sioners of Carroll County shall be due and payable on the
first day of April of the year of their levy, shall be con-
sidered in arrears on the first day of October next follow-
