placed in the Purchasing Department, where he remained for
more than seven years; and
WHEREAS, in July, 1937, he was furloughed for one year, due
to illness; and
WHEREAS, after the expiration of his furlough, the said
Frank B. Semon was neither restored to active service or
retired on a pension; therefore
SECTION 1. Be It enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Police Commissioner of Baltimore City be and
he is hereby authorized and directed to pay to Frank B.
Semon, a former member of the Police Department, a pension,
out of the funds in the possession of said Commissioner or
subject to his control, equal to one-half the salary paid him
at the time of furlough; said pension to be paid at the same
time and in the same manner as other pensions are paid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Prince George's County", sub-title "Circuit Court", to be
under sub-heading "Stenographers", said new section to be
known as Section 201A and to follow immediately after
Section 201 of said Article, providing for the appointment
and compensation of stenographers by the Judges of the
Seventh Judicial Circuit resident in Prince George's County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Circuit
Court", to be under sub-heading "Stenographers", said new
section to be known as Section 201A, to follow immediately
after Section 201 of said Article, and to read as follows:
201A. Each of the Judges of the Seventh Judicial Circuit
resident in Prince George's County is hereby authorized to ap-
