To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, FRANCIS PETROTT, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Chapter
441 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1922,
DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the General Election held in this
State on Tuesday, November 5, 1940, An Act, known as Chap-
ter 353 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1939, was sub-
mitted to the voters of the State of Maryland for their adop-
tion or rejection, under provisions of Article 16 of the Consti-
tution of the State, said Act being:

An Act to repeal Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and
12 of Article 19A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1935 Supplement), title "Conservation of Natural
Resources"; and providing for the creation of a "Com-
mission of Fisheries", and for the inspection of oysters
and the collection of taxes on them, etc.

AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 57, 220 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of said Chapter 353 of the Acts of
1939, and 147, 602 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Act, in the State of Maryland; and a majority being against
the adoption thereof, it was thereby rejected and repealed by
the voters of said State.
