STATE OF MARYLAND
OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE
To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, FRANCIS PETROTT, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Chapter
441 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1922,
DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the General Election held in this
State on Tuesday, November 5, 1940, An Act, known as Chap-
ter 140 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1939, was submitted to the voters of St. Mary's County for
their adoption or rejection, under the provisions of Article 16
of the Constitution of the State, said Act being:
An Act to add a new section to Article 19 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"St. Mary's County, " sub-title "Schools, " said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 202B and to follow imme-
diately after Section 202A of said Article, authorizing
and empowering the County Commissioners of St.
Mary's County to levy and appropriate funds for the
transportation of children to schools not receiving
State aid.
AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 2, 453 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of said Chapter 140 of the Acts of
1939, and 1, 109 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Act, in said County; and a majority being in favor of the
adoption thereof, it was thereby ratified by the voters of said
County.
