NO. 7.
(House Joint Resolution 7)

Joint Resolution providing for flood lighting the dome of the
State House.

WHEREAS, the dome of the State House has long been a
symbol of the ideals, beauty and dignity of the Free State; and

WHEREAS, said dome has been a source of pride to the
citizens of Maryland; and

WHEREAS, visitors to the State have been favorably im-
pressed by the symbolic beauty of said dome; and

WHEREAS, the publicity value of said dome as an attraction
and symbol of the State would be enhanced if the dome were
visible not only in the day time, but also at night; therefore
be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
dome of the State House be flood lighted for at least four
hours every night with a light at least sufficient to make it
visible from the channel of the Chesapeake Bay; and be it
further

Resolved, That the Governor be directed to include an
appropriation for such flood lighting in the Budget to be sub-
mitted to the General Assembly in 1943.

(House Joint Resolution 15)

A Joint Resolution authorizing and directing the State Roads
Commission to make a survey of traffic conditions and report
as to the desirability of constructing a bridge over the
Patuxent River, from Holland Point, in Calvert County, to
Benedict, in Charles County.

WHEREAS, a bridge over the Patuxent River, from Holland
Point, in Calvert County, to Benedict, in Charles County,
would be a great convenience to a large number of people; and
