an investigation of said alleged pollution of the Potomac
River at and below Alexandria, Virginia, and to take such
steps as may be found possible and desirable to abate such
conditions; and be it further

Resolved, That copies of this Resolution be sent to all
of the governmental agencies and bodies mentioned herein.

(Senate Joint Resolution 15)

Joint Resolution Extending Thanks and Appreciation to the
National Geographic Magazine.

WHEREAS, through the courtesy of Dr. Gilbert Grosvenor,
President, and the editors of the magazine, the April issue
of the National Geographic Magazine contains a splendid
presentation of our State's many charms and natural ad-
vantages; and

WHEREAS, the publication of this article will redound
to the State's advantages in many ways, and undoubtedly
will acquaint many thousands anew with Maryland's nu-
merous points of interest; and

WHEREAS, such a presentation is distinctly in line with
the efforts of the Maryland Publicity Commission to pub-
licize our State; therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the thanks and appreciation of this body be extended to
Dr. Gilbert Grosvenor and the staff of The National
Geographic Magazine; and be it further

Resolved, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby
requested to send a copy of this resolution under the Great
Seal of the State of Maryland to Dr. Gilbert Grosvenor, as
editor of The National Geographic Magazine.
