JOINT RESOLUTIONS
NO. 1.
(House Joint Resolution 1)
A Joint Resolution inviting the Honorable Franklin Delano
Roosevelt, President of the United States, to address the
members of the General Assembly of Maryland.
WHEREAS, the Honorable Franklin Delano Roosevelt has
demonstrated such remarkable powers of leadership during the
past eight years in which has occurred the greatest economic
depression in the history of our Country, and has shown such
a deep understanding of and sympathy for the suffering and
distress of his fellow countrymen, that he has endeared himself
to all our citizens and has been chosen for a third term as
President thereby breaking all precedents in this country; and
WHEREAS, the people of Maryland would deem it a high
honor, the members of the General Assembly a rare privilege,
to have the Honorable Franklin Delano Roosevelt visit the
State as our guest; therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Honorable Franklin Delano Roosevelt, President of the United
States, be and he is hereby invited to be the guest of the State
of Maryland, and to address the General Assembly of Mary-,
land on any day which may be convenient to him; and be it
further
Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions, under the great
seal of the State, be sent to the President of the United States
by the Secretary of State, accompanied by an invitation to
visit us and be our guest any day before the expiration of the
present session of the General Assembly, March 31, next.

(House Joint Resolution 4)
Joint Resolution requesting the Congress of the United States
to make provision for the construction of a tunnel under or
a bridge over the Patapsco River, at Baltimore City.
