Gasoline Tax and Commissioner of Motor Vehicles

From the net receipts of the 2c. Gasoline Tax, after
refund exemptions, but before the other deductions
as hereinafter provided, there shall be set aside in
a special account that sums resulting from one and
four-tenths mills (.0014) of the 2c. Gasoline Tax,
to be applied in accordance with the provisions of
Sections 123 to 129 of Article 89B of the 1935
Supplement to the Annotated Code of Maryland,
1924 Edition, as enacted by Chapter 355, Acts of
1937. After providing- for the fund as just shown,

mission the Income of Commissioner of Motor v ;
Vehicles derived from Truck License Fees and
Franchise Taxes (which, are in this Budget herein-
after specifically dedicated) and, in addition, 70%
of the 2c. Gasoine Tax and 70% of the Receipts
from Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, and there
is appropriated to the State Roads Commission
80% of the revenue produced by Fines and For-
feitures through the Traffic Courts.
From 100% of the income derived from the Com-
missioner of Motor Vehicles, less Truck License
Fees and Franchise Taxes, as hereinafter provided,
and from 100% of the income from Traffic Courts,
there first are to be deducted the expenses of the
Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, the expenses of
the Department of Maryland State Police, and the
expenses of the Traffic Courts; and from the
product of the 2c. Gasoline Tax, after exemptions
and after the creation of the one and four-tenths
mills (.0014) of this tax, there shall "be deducted
one-half of the cost of maintaining the Gasoline
Tax Collection Department in the office of the
State Comptroller.
From the remainder of these net revenues received
by the State Roads Commission, together with the
sums received by the State Roads Commission from
the sale of new, old and scrap material, and income
derived from miscellaneous sources, and from the
payment made from Trust Funds reimbursing the
State Roads Commission for certain operating costs
or portions thereof, in connection with the opera-
tion of Toll Bridges on the State System, pro-
vision is to be made first for maintaining all the
roads and bridges comprising the entire State
System of Roads and Bridges, and for the pay-
