SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 345, 346, 347, 362 and 363 of Article 56
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Li-
censes", sub-title "Real Estate Brokers", be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

345. The Commission shall employ and may discharge at
its pleasure a Secretary-Treasurer and such assistants as may
be necessary and do all other things deemed necessary to dis-
charge the duties imposed by and to effect the purposes of this
sub-title. The Secretary-Treasurer shall possess a broad
knowledge of the generally accepted practices in the real estate
business in this State and be reasonably well informed as to
the general laws governing agency and contracts for the con-
veyance or leasing of real estate.

The compensation of the members of the Commission, the
Secretary-Treasurer and that of all other employees of the
Commission shall be provided in the State Budget.

The Secretary-Treasurer and Chairman shall give bond, sub-
ject to the approval of the State Law Department, to the State
for the faithful performance of their duties in such sum as
may be fixed by the Governor.

346. Office and Records, (a) The office of the Commission
shall be selected by the Commission, subject to the approval
of the Director of the Department of Budget and Procurement
and the Board of Public Works, as otherwise provided by law.

(b) The Commission shall adopt a seal with such design
as the Commission may prescribe engraved thereon, by
which it shall authenticate its proceedings. Copies of all rec-
ords and papers in the office of the Commission, duly certified
and authenticated by the seal of said Commission shall be re-
ceived in evidence in all courts equally and with like effect as
the original. All records kept in the office of the Commission
under authority of this sub-title shall be open to public inspec-
tion under such reasonable rules and regulations as shall be
prescribed b}7 the Commission.

347. Funds—Expenses, (a) All fees charged and collected
under this sub-title shall be paid to the Commission and be
deposited by it to the credit of the State Treasurer in such
bank, banks, or trust companies as may be designated by the
State Treasurer. The disbursement of the appropriation in the
State Budget for salaries and expenses of the Commission
shall be made in accordance with regulations of the State
Comptroller's office relating* thereto.
