known as Section 34A and to follow immediately after
Section 34 of said Article, providing for a general regis-
tration of voters in Queen Anne's County in the year
1942.
WHEREAS, There has been no general registration of
voters in Queen Anne's County since 1914, and
WHEREAS, The present registration books have been
completely filled so that it is impossible to use them for
another election, thereby making it necessary to buy new
books and transcribe the names thereon, and
WHEREAS, There are hundreds of names of people on the
present books who are dead or have moved from the
County, and
WHEREAS, Nearly all the other counties of the State have
provided for a general registration of voters in recent
years, therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Registration", said
new section to be known as Section 34A, to follow imme-
diately after Section 34 of said Article, and to read as
follows:
34A. In Queen Anne's County, a new general registra-
tion of all the qualified voters in said County shall be made
by the Boards of Registry in the year 1942. Such new
general registration shall be made in the same way and
under the same rules and provisions in all respects as are
in said Article 33 of the Code of Public General Laws
made for the first general registration, so far as the same
may be applicable, and except as herein modified. Each
Board of Registry shall sit for said new registration at
the place designated by the Board of Supervisors of Elec-
tions of Queen Anne's County on the first Tuesday of April,
May, June, July and August, 1942. The register of voters
made under the provisions of this section shall supersede
and thereafter be used in place of the present register of
voters in Queen Anne's County. The said Board of Registry
shall also sit on the day prescribed by Section 21 of Article
33 for the intermediate registration of voters preceding
primary elections.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the
