Section 29 of Article 20 of said Code, title "Somerset
County", sub-title "Court Stenographer", Section 20 of
Article 23 of said Code, title "Wicomico County", sub-
title "Court Stenographer", and Section 49 of Article 24
of said Code, title "Worcester County", sub-title "Court
Stenographer", as said section was amended by Chapter
67 of the Acts of 1935, increasing the salary of the
Court Stenographer of the First Judicial Circuit.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 136 of Article 10 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dor-
chester County", sub-title "Court Stenographer", being
also Codified as Section 29 of Article 20 of said Code, title
"Somerset County", sub-title "Court Stenographer", Sec-
tion 20 of Article 23 of said Code, title "Wicomico County",
sub-title "Court Stenographer", and Section 49 of Article
24 of said Code, title "Worcester County", sub-title "Court
Stenographer", as said section was amended by Chapter 67
of the Acts of 1935, be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments to read as follows:

136. The salary of said stenographer shall be two
thousand dollars ($2, 000) per year, the said salary to
be paid as follows: The County Commissioners of Dor-
chester County, Wicomico County, Somerset County
and Worcester County shall each pay the sum of five
hundred dollars thereof. Said payments to be made in
quarterly installments during the service, on the presenta-
tion of the certificate of the clerk of either county or of
either of said judges of said court, to the County Com-
missioners certifying to the services of said court stenog-
rapher. And the said County Commissioners of the sev-
eral counties are hereby directed and empowered to provide
for the payment of their several portions of the salary of
the said stenographer at once on presentation of said
certificates.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1941.
