tions and Restrictions", said new section to be known as
Section 42A, to follow immediately after Section 42 of
said Article, and to read as follows:

42A. It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or for
any retail dealer to give alcoholic beverages in Kent
County between the hours of midnight on Saturday and
6 A. M. on Monday, any other provisions in this Article
or in any other law to the contrary notwithstanding: Any
person selling or any retail dealer giving alcoholic bever-
ages in Kent County between the hours of midnight on
Saturday and 6 A. M. on Monday shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined
not exceeding fifty dollars ($50. 00) for the first offense,
and for each succeeding offense shall be fined not exceed-
ing one hundred dollars ($100. 00) or imprisoned in the
County Jail for not more than thirty (30) days or be
both fined and imprisoned, in the discretion of the court.

This section shall not apply to or affect Class F licenses
issued under Article 2B of the Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall
not become effective until it shall have been submitted for
adoption or rejection to the qualified voters of Kent County
at the election to be held in November 1942. There shall
be printed on the ballots to be used at said election the
title of this Act and, underneath said title on separate
lines, a square or box to the right of and opposite the words
"For Sunday Closing", and a corresponding square or
box to the right of and opposite the words "Against Sun-
day Closing", so that the voters shall be able to designate
by a cross mark in the proper box or square his or her
decision for or against said question. If a majority of the
votes cast on said question shall be "For Sunday Closing",
then this Act shall become immediately effective; but if
a majority of the votes cast thereon shall be "Against
Sunday Closing", then this Act shall be null and void and
of no effect whatsoever.
