HERBERT R. O'CONOR, GOVERNOR. 1063

WHEREAS, Coroners have been abolished and their duties
transferred to the Post Mortem Examiners' Commission;
therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 17 and 18 of Article 36 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Fees of Officers", sub-
title "Coroners and Coroners' Inquests", be and they are
hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 621.
(House Bill 26)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 52 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Justices of the
Peace", sub-title "Attachments", said new section to be
known as Section 49A and to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 49 of said Article, relating to the powers of Justices
of the Peace.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Attachments", said new
section to be known as Section 49A, to follow immediately
after Section 49 of said Article, and to read as follows:

49A. The proceedings in Attachment Cases on original
process before Justices of the Peace shall be similar to pro-
ceedings in Attachment Cases on original process in the Com-
mon Law Courts of Baltimore City and the Circuit Courts in
the Counties (including the proceedings consequent on the
filing of interrogatories to be answered by the Garnishee)
without the necessity for formal pleading.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1941.
