herein contained shall affect the status or pension rights of
former employees of the Traffic Court now on retirement.
205L. Clerks. There shall be nine clerical assistants
who shall be designated clerks, four of whom shall receive
salaries of $1, 200 per annum and five of whom shall re-
ceive salaries of $900 per annum, said clerks to be ap-
pointed by the chief magistrate and their salaries set by
him, subject to the approval of the Governor as provided
in the State budget. The chief magistrate shall have the
power to readjust the salaries of said clerks in his discre-
tion within the limits herein set.
All clerical assistants provided for in this Act shall be
appointed by the Chief Magistrate from lists prepared by
the Board of Police Examiners in the same manner that
candidates for the Baltimore City Police Force are now
appointed.
The dockets and records of arrests and convictions and
all other records shall be kept by the clerks in such form
and under such plan as may jointly be agreed upon by the
chief magistrate of the Traffic Court and the Commissioner
of Motor Vehicles.
The four Police Lieutenants now assigned to duty in the
Traffic Court shall be relieved of said duty provided that
they are returned to active duty in the Police Department
with the rank of Lieutenant; and the number of Police
Lieutenants now fixed by law for Baltimore City is hereby
increased by four to accommodate said Lieutenants hereby
returned to active duty in the Police Department.
205M. Corporate Bond. The Supervisor, Assistant
Supervisor and Court Clerks herein provided for shall give
to the State of Maryland and file with the Clerk of the
Criminal Court of Baltimore City a good and sufficient
bond with corporate security to be approved by the Chief
Judge of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore in the penalty
of $10, 000 each, upon the conditions expressed in each of
said bonds that the person giving it will truly and faith-
fully discharge, execute and perform all and singular the
duties and obligations of his office or position and that
he will account and pay over to the proper authority all
fees, costs, fines, penalties and forfeitures which he is
bound to account for and pay over as aforesaid, and that
he will faithfully and truly account for and pay over to
the party entitled thereto by law all money belonging to
such party which may come into his hands.
