authority to release prisoners committed by traffic court
magistrates prior to the expiration of their terms as speci-
fied in the commitment papers except upon the written
order of the supervisor or court clerks as herein provided,
or upon order of a court of competent jurisdiction. No
fines, costs or other monies shall be paid to any warden or
other custodian in cases from the Traffic Court.

205-1. Supervisor. There shall be certain clerical
assistants to the magistrates of the Traffic Court as here-
inafter provided for, who shall be appointed by the Chief
Magistrate of the Traffic Court and, after appointment, be
under his supervision and control. One of said clerical
assistants shall be designated as Supervisor and shall re-
ceive a salary of $2, 600 per annum. He shall replace and
perform the duties now assigned to the chief clerk of the
Traffic Court. He or any clerical employees designated for
that purpose shall have the power to fix the amount of
and accept bail and he shall perform such other duties as
may be assigned to him by the chief magistrate. There
shall be an Assistant Supervisor who shall receive a salary
of $2, 400 per annum. In addition to the duties which may
be assigned said Assistant Supervisor by the chief magis-
trate, he shall act in the absence of the Supervisor and
shall at such time possess the same authority as the Super-
visor.

205J. Court Clerks. Three of said clerical assistants
shall be designated court clerks and shall receive salaries
of $2, 300 each per annum, and shall be assigned by the
chief magistrate to duties in the court rooms when sessions
of the Court are being held, and to such other duties as
the chief magistrate shall prescribe.

205K. Senior Clerks. Four of said clerical assistants
shall be designated senior clerks, who shall receive salaries
of $2, 080 each per annum, and who shall perform such
duties as the chief magistrate shall prescribe.

Any of the present employees of the Traffic Court
appointed by the Police Commissioner or Board of Police
Commissioners from the eligible list of the Station House
or Headquarters clerks and who are participants in, or
contributors to, the Police Department Pension Fund, if
retained by the Chief Magistrate as clerical assistants, shall
continue to be treated as Police Department employees for
the purpose of the Police Department Pension Fund and
retain all rights and privileges in said Fund to the same
extent as enjoyed prior to the passage of this Act; nothing
