re-enacted by Chapter 272 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, 1937, title "Harford County",
sub-title "Liquors and Intoxicating Drinks", said amend-
ments providing for a license to be taken out by the
distributors of beverages as defined in section 421A of
the above sub-title; the amount to be paid for such
licenses; and also enacting two new sections to said
title and sub-title to be known as sections 421-II and
42ILL, said new sections providing for certain vouchers
or receipts to be kept by licensees under the provisions
of this sub-title and making it unlawful for a licensee
to have in his possession alcoholic beverages not author-
ized thereunder.

CHAPTER 429.
(Senate Bill 461)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
765 of Article 2, 2 of the Code of Public Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Washington County", sub-title
"Smithsburg", changing the term of office of the Bur-
gess and Commissioners of Smithsburg and extending
the term of office of the present Burgess and Commis-
sioners for one year.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 765 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County", sub-title "Smithsburg", be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

765. That all citizens of the State of Maryland, entitled
to the right of franchise therein and who have resided in
the town of Smithsburg for twelve months next preceding
the election shall, on the third Monday in March, A. D.
1941, elect by ballot a person, not under twenty-three years
of age, a citizen of the United States, and two years a resi-
dent of said town next preceding the election, to be a
Burgess of said town, and also an Assistant Burgess and
three Commissioners, who shall remain in office for the
term of two years or until their successors are elected and
qualified; and thereafter, on the third Monday of March
every other year, they shall elect by ballot a person, not
under twenty-three years of age, a citizen of the United
