342 of said Article, providing for the paying of bounties
for killing grey foxes, hawks and owls in Worcester
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That two new sections be and they are hereby
added to Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Worcester County", to be
under sub-title "Wild Animals", said new sections to be
known as Sections 342A and 342B, to follow immediately
after Section 342 of said Article, and to read as follows:
342A. Any citizen of Worcester County, Maryland, who
shall kill or destroy a grey fox, owl or hawk (fish hawk
excepted), within the limits of Worcester County, shall be
entitled to the following allowance or bounty, viz: For
each grey fox, the sum of $2. 00, for each hawk (fish hawk
excepted), the sum of $0. 25, and for each owl, the sum
of $0. 25.
342B. To obtain such allowance, it shall be necessary
for the person killing such game or birds, to produce the
head, skin or scalp of the same before some Justice of the
Peace of said County and at the same time make oath
that the animal, game or bird was taken and killed within
the limits of Worcester County, within 30 days before the
production of the head, skin or scalp before the Justice
of the Peace; the said Justice shall thereupon give the
person producing the same a certificate of such head, skin
or scalp as was produced before him, wherein he shall set
forth the above-mentioned oath; and it shall also be the
duty of the Justice of the Peace to mark such head, skin
or scalp by cutting holes through the ears to prevent any
second allowance for the same.
Upon presentation of the above-mentioned certificate to
the Treasurer of said County, The said Treasurer shall pay
the allowance or bounty as provided in Section 342A of
this Article.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1939.
