are substantially the same as existing statutes, shall be
construed as continuations thereof, and as intended to
make no substantive change in existing laws, except in
so far as such change shall be clearly manifest, and no
implication of a change of intent shall arise by reason of a
change of words or phraseology or by reason of a reloca-
tion or rearrangement of sentences, phrases, sections or
paragraphs except so far as such change of intent shall
be clearly manifest.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 2 (10),
Section 2 (15), Section 2 (17) and Section 2 (18) of Arti-
cle 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935 Supple-
ment) be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments so as to read respectively as follows:
(10) The phrase "finance corporation" shall include
finance, credit, loan, mortgage and commercial banking cor-
porations, and any corporation other than banks or trust
companies substantially competing with national banks in
this State.
(15) The phrase "residents of this State" shall include
all domestic corporations.
(17) A corporation which is a resident of this State
shall be deemed a resident of the county and/or city in
which its principal office in this State shall be situated.
(18) A foreign corporation doing business in this State
shall in respect to property used in or in connection with
its business in this State, including property held in trust
for a resident of this State, be deemed a resident of this
State.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That Section 6 (10)
of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935
Supplement) be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:
(10) The stock in business of every person, firm or
corporation engaged in any manufacturing or commercial
business in this State, which shall be deemed permanently
located in the county and/or city where such business is
carried on.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That a new sub-
section be and is hereby added to Section 6 of Article 81
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935 Supplement),
to be known as Section 6 (11), to follow Section 6 (10) of
said Article, and to read as follows:
