of the following Companies in the manner following; that is
to say, to the Treasurer of the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Com-
pany one thousand dollars ($1, 000. 00), to the Treasurer of
the Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Company one thousand
dollars ($1, 000. 00), to the Treasurer of the Marion Volunteer
Fire Company five hundred dollars ($500. 00).

The money so appropriated and paid to the aforesaid Fire
Companies shall be used by the said Companies only for the
purpose of purchasing and repairing fire apparatus and equip-
ment; provided, however, that no payments shall be made to
any company which has any regulations or resolutions limit-
ing the territory within which it will respond to calls.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 55.

(House Bill 180)

AN ACT to add two new sections to Article 7 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Car-
roll County", sub-title "Manchester", said new sections to
be known as Sections 161A and 161B and to follow imme-
diately after Section 161 of said Article, providing for nomi-
nations of candidates for Mayor and members of the Com-
mon Council of the town of Manchester and for the ballots
to be used at elections thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That two new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-title "Manchester", said
new sections to be known as Sections 161A and 161B? to fol-
low immediately after Section 161 of said Article, and to read
as follows:

161A. For the purpose of nominating candidates for Mayor
and members of the Common Council of said town, the Mayor
shall call a meeting of the voters of said town to be held at
least fifteen (15) days prior to the date of each annual elec-
tion, and shall give at least ten (10) days public notice of such
meeting; nominations for said offices shall be made by major-
ity vote of the municipal voters present at such meeting; a
