service; $1300. 00 per school year for the seventh and
eighth years of service; $1350. 00 per school year for the
ninth and tenth years of service; $1400. 00 per school year
for the eleventh and twelfth years of service; $1500. 00 per
school year for the thirteenth and fourteenth years of
service and $1600. 00 per school year for the fifteenth year
and each succeeding year of service thereafter.

No teacher, with degree, holding regular first grade or
higher certificate shall receive a salary less than $1200. 00
per school year for the first year of service; $1236. 00 per
school year for the second year of service; $1284. 00 per
school year for the third year of service; $1344. 00 per
school year for the fourth year of service; $1416. 00 per
school year for the 5th and 6th years of service; $1500. 00
per school year for the seventh and eighth years of service;
$1550. 00 per school year for the ninth and tenth years of
service; $1600. 00 per school year for the eleventh and
twelfth years of service; $1700. 00 per school year for the
thirteenth and fourteenth years of service; $1800. 00 per
school year for the fifteenth year and each succeeding year
of service thereafter. Any such teacher having charge of
a two-teacher elementary school shall receive $100. 00 per
school year more than the foregoing schedule requires. A
principal of an elementary school with from two to four
assistants shall receive $200. 00 per school year more than
the foregoing schedule requires; the principal of an elemen-
tary school, with from five to eight assistants and with an
average daily attendance of 200 or more, shall receive
$400. 00 per school year more than the foregoing schedule
requires; the principal of an elementary school with nine
or more assistants and with a daily average attendance of
360 or more, shall receive $600. 00 per school year more
than the foregoing schedule requires.

The salary of a teacher or principal holding a provisional
certificate shall be f200. 00 less per school year than that
required for a teacher or principal holding a regular cer-
tificate for the same grade.

The schedule hereinbefore set forth shall become effective
August 1, 1940, and not then unless the General Assembly
of Maryland at its regular Session 1939 shall have passed a
General Law setting up a minimum salary schedule applic-
able, among others, to the teachers and elementary
principals described in this Act.

The County Commissioners of Allegany County shall, in
their annual levy for the year 1940 and annually there-
after, levy sufficient funds to meet the schedule of salaries
herein established.
