The said Treasurer shall be entitled to a commission of
three per centum on the amount of all sales made by him
in pursuance of the provisions of this section to be com-
puted and charged as part of the expense of such sale;
and he shall also be entitled to charge and receive a like
commission on all taxes, interest and costs paid after the
first day of April, in each and every year, and before the
day of sale.

Property sold for taxes may be redeemed as provided
by the Code of Public General Laws upon the payment
of the taxes, with interest, costs of advertising and actual
expenses of sale, but no payment shall be required for
attorney's fees.

This Act is intended to apply, and shall apply, to delin-
quent Town taxes for the year 1939, as well as to all such
taxes for subsequent years.

179A. Before any deed for the conveyance of real
estate or chattels real within the limits of the Town of
Elkton shall be received for record by the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Cecil County, the person offering said
deed for record shall submit the same to the Treasurer
of the Town of Elkton, who shall thereupon make transfer
upon the Town Assessment Books of said property to the
name of the new owner or owners thereof, and as evidence
of said transfer shall stamp the said deed showing said
transfer and the payment of all taxes, paving assessments,
sewer and water connection charges, water rents and any
and all other liens against the property to be conveyed
in said deed and due the said Town.

179B. No property shall be transferred on said Town
Assessment Books and no deed shall be stamped unless
and until all taxes, paving assessments, sewer and water
connection charges, water rents and any and all other
liens against the property to be conveyed in said deed and
due the said Town have been paid to the said Treasurer.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1939.
