the Town of Rockville, said point being the Southeast
corner of the dwelling house on the Copp's farm, now
known as West End Park; thence Southerly with the
original boundary of the Town of Rockville to the point
of beginning.
That all of the inhabitants of the territory by this Act
annexed to the Town of Rockville shall in all respects be
subject to the powers, jurisdiction and authority now
vested or to be vested by law in The Mayor and Council
of Rockville.
That all of the provisions of the Public Local Laws of
Maryland pertaining to the Town of Rockville and all of
the ordinances heretofore enacted by The Mayor and Coun-
cil of Rockville shall be and the same are extended and
made applicable to the territory by this Act annexed to
said Town.
That all property, real and personal, in said territory
shall be subject to assessment, levy and taxation for all
proper purposes, including the payment of interest upon
and retirement of the principal of bonds of the Town of
Rockville now outstanding or hereafter to be issued, in the
same manner and form and at the same rate of taxation
as property of similar character or description within the
old limits of said Town, the first of such levies to be made
at the time of the annual levy of taxes of said Town for
the year 1939.
That all streets, avenues, alleys and roadways lying
within the areas by this Act annexed to the Town of
Rockville which have heretofore been legally constituted
streets, roads, avenues or alleys, shall be held to be validly
constituted streets, roads, avenues and alleys of the Town
of Rockville.
Be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency law and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and having been passed by an "aye" and "nay" vote sup-
ported by three-fifths of the membership elected to each
house of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
