ter 280 of the Acts of 1931, providing for a Department
of Assessment and a Department of Budget for Anne
Arundel County and relating to the assessment of prop-
erty and the budget, expenditures, taxes and borrowing
in said County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That eight new sections be and they are hereby
added to Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County",
to be under sub-title "Assessments", said new sections to
be known as Sections 152A-152H, inclusive, to follow im-
mediately after Section 152 of said Article, and to read as
follows:
ASSESSMENTS
DEPARTMENT OF ASSESSMENT
152A. There is hereby created a Department of As-
sessment for Anne Arundel County to supervise and con-
trol all assessments of property for taxation in the
County.
152B. The Supervisor of Assessments appointed for
Anne Arundel County pursuant to Article 81 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland shall during his term of office act
as the Director of said Department. The Director shall
have full supervision, direction and control over all func-
tions, activities and employees of the Department. For
his services in all capacities, said Director shall receive
from the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County
an annual salary of thirty-six hundred dollars ($3600. 00)
payable in equal semi-monthly installments.
152C. To assist in the performance of his functions
and duties, the Director may appoint
(1) An assistant Director to perform such duties as
the Director shall prescribe and to receive an annual salary
of twenty-four hundred dollars ($2, 400. 00) payable in equal
semi-monthly installments, and
(2) One clerk to perform such duties as the Director
shall prescribe and to receive an annual salary of twelve
hundred dollars ($1200. 00) payable in equal semi-monthly
installments, and
(3) With the approval of the County Commissioners,
whenever a general re-assessment for the County is
required by State law, two qualified persons in each elec-
