credited to the Military Department to be used for the acqui-
sition of a site and the erection thereon of a new Armory at
Annapolis; not more than Seventy Thousand Dollars ($70, -
000) may be expended by the Board of Public Works for mak-
ing alterations and repairs to the Court of Appeals Building.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 758.
(Senate Bill 299)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
406A, 406B, 406BB, 406C, and 406E of Article 2 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Police
Department", as added by Chapter 192 of the Acts of
1937 and to add six new sections to said Article to be
known as Section 406½, 406¾, 406AA, 406CA, 406DA,
406GA, said Sections 406½ and 406¾ to follow imme-
diately after 406 of said Article, said Sections 406AA,
406CA, 406DA, and 406GA. to follow respectively imme-
diately after Sections 406A, 406C, 406D, and 406G of
said Article, relating to the Police Department of Anne
Arundel County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Sections 406A, 406B, 406BB, 406C, and
406E of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County",
sub-title "Police Department", as added by Chapter 19, 2
of the Acts of 1937, be and they are hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments, and that six new sections
to be known as Sections 406½, 406¾, 406AA, 406CA,
406DA, and 406GA be and they are hereby added to said
Article, said Sections 406½ and 406¾ to follow imme-
diately after Section 406 of said Article and said Sections
406AA, 406CA, 406DA, and 406GA to follow respectively
immediately after Sections 406A, 406C, 406D, and 406G
of said Article, all to read as follows:

Section 406½ The "Anne Arundel County Police
Force" is hereby created. Said Police Force shall consist
of a Chief of Police, five sergeants, two desk sergeants
