154 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 96

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 490 of Article 1 of the Code of Public Lo-
cal Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Allegany County",
sub-title "Orphans' Court", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:

490. The Judges of the Orphans' Court of Allegany County
shall each receive the sum of ninety dollars per month as full
compensation for the performance of their duties, to be paid
at the end of each month after the qualification of said Judges;
provided that any Judge of said Court who shall be absent
from the sessions of said Court for one month shall not receive
any compensation for said month nor thereafter so long as
said absence continues.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect upon June 15th, 1939.

CHAPTER 96.
(House Bill 296)

AN ACT to repeal Section 861A of Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Mont-
gomery County", sub-title "Schools", as the same was en-
acted by Chapter 480 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland at its Regular Session of 1937, pertaining to
referenda on School loans in Montgomery County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 861A of Article 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Montgomery
County", sub-title "Schools", as the same was enacted by
Chapter 480 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
at its Regular Session of 1937, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health and safety, and be-
ing passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of
all the members of the two Houses of the General Assembly,
the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
