HERBERT R. O'CONOR, GOVERNOR. 153

five days prior to the election. Notice of the same shall be
given at the same time and manner as notice of the preceding
registration sitting. It will be the duty of the Mayor and
Town Council on such evening to strike from the lists all
those to whom notice has been mailed by the Clerk as ordered,
who do not appear before them at that time and show cause
why their names should not be stricken off the lists of quali-
fied voters or who have not otherwise shown to them their
qualifications as qualified voters, provided such notice has
been mailed by the Clerk at least ten days before Revision Day.
Any person feeling aggrieved by the action of the registra-
tion officials or the Mayor and Town Council shall have the
right to an appeal to the Circuit Court for Garrett County.

407B. Whenever in the opinion of the Mayor and Town
Council of Oakland a new general registration of all the quali-
fied voters of said town is desirable, then the advertisement
and notice of registration provided to be given in this Act
shall clearly state the fact that all qualified voters are re-
quired to again register, whereupon the old registration lists
shall be voided. At all other times after the general 1939 reg-
istration, the registration on the last Monday in January in
each election year shall be for the purpose of registering only
additional qualified voters upon the lists maintained by the
said Mayor and Town Council and for the purposes of re-
vision. But whenever a general registration of voters is held
under this section in an election year, the officers of registra-
tion, in addition to sitting for this purpose on the last Mon-
day in January, shall sit for such additional day or days as
are designated by the said Mayor and Town Council and
specified in such public notice.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

Approved May 3, 1939.
