HERBERT R. O'CONOR, GOVERNOR. 1483

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 59A of Article 17 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1935 Supplement), title "Clerks of Courts", sub-
title "Clerks of Circuit Courts", be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

59A. Any person, firm or corporation offering for recorda-
tion in the Clerk's office of the Superior Court of Baltimore
City, or in the Clerk's offices of the Circuit Courts for the sev-
eral Counties, any deed, mortgage, lease, agreement, condi-
tional sales contract, chattel mortgage, or any other recordable
instrument, upon a printed form, shall cause said forms to be
printed in good, clear readable, of not less than eight-point
type. The recording charges for any such instrument not con-
forming to the requirements of this section but offered for
recordation may be three times the charge now allowed by law
for the recording of the same.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1940.

CHAPTER 712.
(House Bill 87)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne
Arundel County", to be under sub-title "Pawnbrokers",
said new section to be known as Section 406A and to follow
immediately after Section 406 of said Article, requiring all
pawnbrokers in Anne Arundel County to make certain
reports.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 2
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Anne Arundel County", to be under sub-title "Pawn-
brokers", said new section to be known as Section 406A, to
follow immediately after Section 406 of said Article, and to
read as follows:

406A. Each and every pawnbroker in Anne Arundel Coun-
ty shall keep a legible record of all articles taken on pledge
and that the said list be open for inspection during the ordi-
nary business hours to the Police Departments of the City of
