CHAPTER 695.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 123, 124, 125, 126 and 127 of Arti-
cle 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Frederick County", sub-title "Roads", and to
enact in lieu thereof eight new sections, said new sections
to be known as Sections 123 to 127C, inclusive, creating a
County Roads Board for Frederick County and prescribing
its duties and powers, and authorizing the County Commis-
sioners of said County to borrow certain sums of money
temporarily for road purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 123, 124, 125, 126 and 127 of Article 11 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Frederick County", sub-title "Roads", fee and they are
hereby repealed; and that eight new sections be and they are
hereby enacted in lieu thereof, said new sections to be known
as Sections 123 to 127C, inclusive, and to read as follows:
123. A County Roads Board for Frederick County is
hereby created. The Board shall consist of eight (8) mem-
bers, five of whom shall serve without salary for a term be-
ginning May 1st, 1939, and which shall be constituted as
follows: William R. Hauver for a term of two years,
James D. Adams for a term of three years, Roy M. Fisher
for a term of four years, Fred W. Springer for a term of five
years, William Hobbs for a term of six years, the remain-
ing three members shall be the County Commissioners. At
the expiration of the term of office of the four members
appointed in this bill, their successors shall be appointed by
the County Commissioners of Frederick County for a term
of five years. The board shall hold one regular meeting per
month for which each appointed member shall be paid the
sum of Five Dollars ($5. 00) for actual attendance at said
meeting, and provided further that upon the vote of five of
the members of said Board, a special meeting or special meet-
ings may be called for which the members of said Board shall
receive traveling expenses at the rate of five cents (5¢) per
mile and no other remuneration for said attendance.
124. The duly constituted attorney for the Board of
County Commissioners of Frederick County is hereby made the
attorney for the County Roads Board of Frederick County and
shall receive as compensation the sum of One Hundred Dol-
lars ($100. 00) per annum, plus fees for special services to
said Board, as authorized by the County Roads Board of
Frederick County.
