1450 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 693

375. The term "beverages", as used in Sections 375 to 380F,
inclusive, shall include beer, lager beer, ale, porter, stout and
other brewed beverages, containing not more than six per
centum (6%) of alcohol by volume.

The term "person" shall mean and include natural persons,
associations, firms and corporations.

376. The County Commissioners of Caroline County are
authorized to issue licenses to persons, firms, associations or
corporations on applications duly made therefor, for the sale
of beverages within the limits of Caroline County, subject,
however, to the limitations and restrictions imposed by this
Act. The said County Commissioners shall keep a full record
of all applications for licenses, of all recommendations for and
remonstrances against the granting of licenses, and of the
action taken thereon. The expenses incident to such work
shall be paid by the County Commissioners from the funds
arising from license fees hereinafter provided.

The County Commissioners for Caroline County, in the ad-
ministration of this Act shall act as the Board of License
Commissioners for said County, and each of the said Commis-
sioners shall receive from the license fees imposed under this
Act, in addition to their present salaries, the sum of Seventy-
five Dollars ($75. 00) per annum for their services, and the
remainder of said license fees shall be used by the said County
Commissioners for the general purposes of the County. The
Commissioners shall designate and fix the first Tuesday, be-
tween the hours of 9 A. M. and 1 P. M. in each calendar month
on which they shall sit as the Board of License Commissioners
for the hearing of such applications, complaints, and other
business that may come before them in the administration of
this Act.

377. No license shall be issued to a partnership as such,
but only to the partners as individuals. No license shall be
issued to a corporation or unincorporated association as such,
but only to one or more individuals duly authorized to act for
the corporation or association, and such individuals shall as-
sume all of the responsibilities, and be subject to all of the
penalties, conditions and restrictions imposed upon licensees
under the provisions of this Act. The application for every
such license shall disclose the name and address of the corpora-
tion, partnership or association, as well as the name and ad-
dress of the applicant.

378. Any person, firm, corporation or association desiring
a license for the sale of beverages under this Act shall file
with the County Commissioners of Caroline County an applica-
tion therefor in such form as may be prescribed. The appli-
