to follow immediately after Section 14 of said Article, pro-
viding for the licensing of slot machines and pin ball games
and legalizing the distribution, possession and operation
thereof in Prince George's County.

CHAPTER 687.
(House Bill 852)

AN ACT to add five new sections to Article 33 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, title "Elections", sub-title "Vot-
ing Machines", said new sections to be known as Sections
224AA to 224AE, inclusive, and to follow immediately after
Section 224W of said Article, relating to the use of voting
machines in Carroll and Allegany Counties; providing at
the option of and in the discretion of the Board of Super-
visors of Election and the Board of County Commissioners
of said county, for the purchase, rent or lease of voting
machines for use in any or all of the polling places of said
county; providing for the re-arranging of precinct
boundaries, if deemed advisable, for the use of voting
machines; providing for the elimination of clerks of
election where voting machines are used; providing for
the preparation and form of ballots for use in voting
machines, for the time allowed each voter, for the duties
of election officials, for procedure in contested elections,
for the opening and closing of polls where voting machines
are used; defining terms, fixing requirements as to the na-
ture and construction of voting machines which may be
used and the form of ballot labels for voting machines; pro-
viding for the preparation of voting machines for elections,
delivery of voting machines and supplies to the polling
places, providing for the instruction of judges of election;
providing for instruction of voters before an election, and
instruction and assistance of voters on election day, pre-
scribing the manner of voting in elections, and the manner
of voting for Presidential electors; providing for the canvass
of the vote, for the care of machines, for the return of the
votes, for re-canvass of votes; providing for the custody of
voting machines and the keys thereof; prescribing penalties;
providing for the applicability of the election laws, and for
the validity of such portions of this Act as shall not be de-
clared unconstitutional in case other portions should be de-
clared unconstitutional, and providing for the repeal of
laws or portions of laws in conflict herewith.
