effect June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 679.

(House Bill 862)

AN ACT to add seven new sections to Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne
Arundel County", sub-title "Gaming", said new sections to
be known as Sections 293A to 293G, inclusive, to follow im-
mediately after Section 293 of said Article, providing for the
issuing of licenses for the operation of pin ball machines or
games played with balls and plungers, and other similar
devices, and further providing penalties for violation of the
law.

CHAPTER 680.
(House Bill 593)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 43 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1935 Supplement), entitled "Health",
sub-title, "Water, Ice and Sewerage", said new section to
be known as Section 348 and to follow immediately after
Section 347 of said Article, creating a commission to act
jointly with commissions appointed for like purpose by the
State of West Virginia, the Commonwealths of Pennsyl-
vania and Virginia and the District of Columbia, which,
together with three members to be appointed by the Presi-
dent of the United States, shall constitute the Interstate
Commission on the Potomac River Basin, with power to
cooperate in the abatement of the existing pollution and in
the control of future pollution of the waters of the drain-
age basin of the Potomac River within the States of Mary-
land and West Virginia, the Commonwealths of Pennsyl-
vania and Virginia, and the District of Columbia; to au-
thorize the Governor of the State to execute on behalf of
this State a compact with representatives of other States
for the purpose of forming the above mentioned commis-
sion and creating a Potomac Valley Conservancy District;
