exhibition of motion pictures or the operation of bowling
alleys within the boundaries of Wicomico County, between
the hours of 2 P. M. and 6 P. M. and after 9 P. M. on the first
day of the week, commonly called Sunday, whether same be
exhibited with or without a charge or admission fee, provided,
however, that it shall be unlawful for any person or persons
to exhibit motion pictures before 2 o'clock P. M. or between
the hours of 6 P. M. and 9 P. M. on Sunday.

483-O. Nothing contained in Sections 483 or 485 of this
Article shall be construed to prohibit or make unlawful the
work or employment of any operator, ticket seller or other
employees or attendants in connection with the exhibition of
motion pictures, or the operation of bowling alleys on Sunday
within the limits and boundaries of Wicomico County in
accordance with the provisions of Section 483N. Any person
violating any of the provisions of Section 483N, shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof
shall be subject to a fine of not more than One Hundred Dol-
lars ($100. 00) for each and every such violation.

SEC. 1A. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall not
become effective until it shall have been submitted to and
approved by a majority of the voters of Wicomico County
voting thereon at any special election which may be held in
said county prior to the primary election to be held in the
State in May, 1940, at which time this Act shall be voted
upon. If there be no special election held in the year 1939
and if there be no primary election^ in May, 1940, then this
Act shall be submitted to the voters of said county for adop-
tion or rejection at the general election in November, 1940.
There shall be printed on the ballots to be used at said special
election, if held in 1939, or at the primary election to be held
in May, 1940, or at the general election to be held in No-
vember, 1940, as the case may be, the title of this Act and
underneath said title and on separate lines, a square or box
to the right of and opposite the words "For Motion Pictures
and Bowling Alleys on Sunday" and a corresponding square
or box to the right of and opposite the words "Against Motion
Pictures and Bowling Alleys on Sunday", so that the voters
of Wicomico County shall be able to designate by a cross
mark in the proper square or box, his or her decision for or
against said question. If a majority of the votes cast on said
question shall be "For Motion Pictures and Bowling Alleys
on Sunday", then this Act shall become effective immediately,
but if a majority of the votes cast thereon shall be "Against
Motion Pictures and Bowling Alleys on Sunday", then this
Act shall be null and void and of no effect whatsoever.
