the nomination of candidates for County Commissioners
of Anne Arundel County), and to repeal and re-enact
with amendments Section 207 of Article 2 of the Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne
Arundel County, " sub-title "County Commissioners, "
increasing the number of County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County from seven to eight, providing for their
nomination and election, fixing their compensation.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 196 of Article 33 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Elections, " sub-
title "Primary Elections, " be and it is hereby repealed,
and that Section 207 of Article 2 of the Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County, "
sub-title "County Commissioners, " be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, ' to read as
follows:

207. At the general election to be held on the first
Tuesday after the first Monday in the month of Novem-
ber in the year nineteen hundred and forty-two (1942) and
every four years thereafter, there shall be elected eight
County Commissioners for Anne Arundel County, who
shall be eligible for re-election; said Commissioners shall
meet at their office in the Court House at Annapolis for
the transaction of the duties of their office at least one day
in each week, and on such other days as they may deem
necessary.

A person to be eligible to the office of County Commis-
sioner in Anne Arundel County shall have actually resided
in the county for at least ten years, and shall be a tax-
payer upon real estate in said county assessed for at least
two thousand dollars. Each County Commissioner shall
receive a salary of three hundred dollars ($300. 00) per
year, without mileage or other extra compensation of any
kind.

At the primary elections held in Anne Arundel County
at which candidates are to be selected for the positions of
County Commissioners, the voters of each of the eight
districts of said county shall determine for themselves who
shall be their candidate to be voted for at the general elec-
tion, and therefore, the names of the persons who file their
names for the position of County Commissioner, in accord-
ance with the General Primary Election Law, shall be
placed by the Supervisors of Elections in said County, only
upon the ballot in the district where the candidate resides,
and the candidate who receives the greatest number of
