354A. In addition to the officers to be appointed, as
provided by the foregoing section, the Commissioners of
Sharptown, at the second regular meeting after each gen-
eral election and as often thereafter as may be required
to fill vacancies, shall appoint one person, who may or may
not be a resident of the Town and who may or may not be
a member of the Board of Commissioners of Sharptown,
to act as deputy collector of Town taxes and whose official
title shall be "Deputy Collector of Taxes", for the term of
one year or until his successor shall be duly appointed and
qualified. Such Deputy Collector of Taxes shall qualify
before entering upon the performance of the duties of his
office in the same manner as the Collector of Taxes is
required to qualify, but he shall be required to give only
such bond as may from time to time be prescribed by the
Board of Commissioners of Sharptown. The Deputy Col-
lector of Taxes shall be directly accountable to the Col-
lector of Taxes and to the Board of Commissioners of
Sharptown, and he shall have all the powers relative to the
collection of taxes and other public charges as the Collec-
tor of Taxes may now or hereafter have, including the
right to levy upon and sell both real and personal prop-
erty for the payment of taxes and other public charges,
as fully as the Collector of Taxes now has or may here-
after have. The Deputy Collector of Taxes shall have the
right to advertise tax sales over his own name as "Deputy
Collector of Taxes", without the necessity of the name of
the Collector of Taxes appearing in such advertisement.
The Deputy Collector of Taxes shall be paid such salary,
commissions or fees for his services as the Board of Com-
missioners of Sharptown may from time to time deem
right and proper, and he may be removed by the Board of
Commissioners of Sharptown at will in the exercise of
their discretion.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1939.
