82. No person shall keep a colony of bees affected with the
disease known as foul brood, black brood or any other in-
fectious or contagious disease harmful to honey bees in the egg,
larval, pupal or adult state, except as provided by Section 83
of this Article; and every beekeeper, when he becomes aware
of the existence of such a disease among his bees, shall at once
notify the State Board of Agriculture, or its duly authorized
officer or agent of the existence of the same. Any person who
knowing that a contagious or infectious disease exists among
his bees, sells, barters or gives away, or in any other way
disposes of the same, in whole or in part, or any product of
the same, or any hive, super, frame, section or other appliance
used about the diseased bees, unless disinfected or treated in a
manner satisfactory to said officer or agent, shall, upon con-
viction before a court or justice of the peace, be liable to
penalties named in Section 87 of this Article.
83. The State Board of Agriculture, through its duly au-
thorized officer or agent, shall, upon the discovery of foul
brood, black brood or other infectious or contagions diseases,
send to the owner of the diseased bees an order in writing that
. such bees shall be held in quarantine until such time as the
same are released by a written permit from said officer or
agent, and bees so placed in quarantine shall not be removed
from the premises under the penalties named in Section 87 of
this Article.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 617.
(House Bill 138)
AN ACT to repeal Section 160A of Article 3 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1929 and 1930 Editions),
title "Baltimore County", sub-title "County Treasurer", as
said section was enacted by Chapter 1 of the Acts of 1935,
and to add a new section to said Article, said new section
to be known as Section 151A and to follow immediately
after Section 151 of said Article, authorizing the Treasurer
of Baltimore County to appoint counsel and prescribing his
duties and compensation.
